The TNI Commander for the 2015-2017 period General (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo expressed his gratitude to Habib Rizieq Shihab (HRS) for sending his remarks at the launch of the book "SangRevolioner" written by Syahganda Nainggolan in Jakarta last week.
Syahganda is the declarator of the Coalition for the Action to Save Indonesia (WE) who is now being detained by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police for violations of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE).
According to Gatot, it was very interesting what was conveyed by HRS regarding the Moral Revolution. The former Army Chief of Staff admitted that he had listened to what was conveyed by HRS, all of whom used the Pancasila analysis knife.
"It is very extraordinary that so far the work of Islam turns out to be that the Moral Revolution is the blade of the Pancasila analysis. It cannot be denied that Habib Rizieq is a nationalist guarding Pancasila, as has been done by US with a moral movement to guard the noble ideals of the Indonesian nation," he said. Gatot.
Gatot reminded that Indonesian people need to remember, the first time this nation became independent, what took precedence was independence. The founders of the nation said, we Indonesians declare independence.
According to Gatot, independence cites the meaning in Sanskrit as high-class citizens. So that these ideals must be protected to protect the entire nation and all Indonesian blood.
"So the nation's founders proclaimed us to change from a colonized nation to a high-class nation," said Gatot.
Gatot said, Indonesia is a national state, which is a pluralistic nation. This plurality, in fact, is the first principle of Pancasila, which reads "The Supreme Lord". And various religions are recognized in this country. Of all skin colors, languages, all politics are recognized, "said the former Pangkostrad.
Another example, Gatot added, is that the Indonesian nation treats its people with the second principle of 'Just and Civilized Humanity'. To treat human beings who are just and civilized without discrimination. There are no second and third class citizens, he said, because all Indonesian citizens are first class.
"This is what we both see as not valid, does not apply correctly, there are deviations, it is said that religion should not be involved in politics. Remember the 1945 Constitution, Article 29 paragraph 1 that the state is based on one Godhead. Thus there is no effort whatsoever to act as a Muslims use their religion, Catholicism is their religion, all religions are for good, "said Gatot.
Previously, HRS said that the basis of the Republic of Indonesia which is known to the public is Pancasila. Therefore, Pancasila is in accordance with the teachings of Islam, and does not need to be clashed.
"It turns out that if we study Pancasila, from the first to the fifth precepts, it is actually the spirit of morals. First, we talk about the one and only Godhead. This deity provides a motivation to all Indonesians how to carry out national life, and the state must uphold the norms Noble norms of the one and only Godhead, this is an extraordinary moral spirit. So in Pancasila itself, there is actually a moral spirit already, "said HRS.
